Jesse Williams and Sarah Drew, who played Dr. Avery Jackson and Dr. April Kepner in the sixth season, was promoted to series regulars. James Tupper has been cast as Dr. Andrew Perkins, a consultant trauma, at least two episodes of the seventh season. It was also revealed that in April Kepner Jackson and Avery moved in with Meredith and Derek this season.
